User Guide: Adding Packages

This shows how to add a new package to  the Corporate page.   Due to different wording on the main corporate page there is a level of dupication.

There are two posts (one contains the actual information, the other the short info form main corporate page), and one page (for Corporate).
The post uses custom fields (read-page-corporate) to direct to the correct page.
The pages use custom fields (read-post-corporate) to pick up the correct post.

Corporate Packages  – Add to main Corporate page

  1. Create new Post
    1. Title – the name of the new package
    2. Permalink – add “-short” to the end of the permalink, e.g, weddingd-short
    3. Enter a description that will fit to the main corporate page (about 50-60 words)
    4. Categories
      1. Corporate-package
    5. Add featured image
      1. colour : #4d2177
      2. size ration: 1280 width x 688 height
      3. background: transparent
      4. type: png
  2. Publish

Corporate Package – page and detailed post

  1. Create a NextGen gallery (see different instructions)
  2.  Create New Page
    1. Title = the name of the package that will be displayed on the page
    2. Permalink – add “-corporate” to the end of the permalink, e.g, wedding-corporate
    3. Categories: 
      1. Corporate-Page-Package
    4. Page Attributes:
      1. Parent = Corporate and Private
      2. Template = individual-package
      3. Featured image – which becomes the banner at he top of the page (dimensions height to be between 20-25% of the width)
    5. Custom Fields:
      1. lowther-gallery-id = the gallery number created in step 1 above
      2. lowther_post_order = the order amongst thee other corporate packages where the new package should appear (this custom field must be present)
      3. read-more-corporate: the slug of the corresponding post (that is created below) – this can be added later
    6. Save/publish
  3.  Create New post
    1. Title – the same as used in step 2.1 above
    2. Description : the full description of the package.  This does not need to be the same wording as in 1. above. 
    3. Categories:
      1. corporate-page-package
    4. Custom Fields:
      1. lowther_post_order: same as 5.2 above : the order amongst the other corporate packages where the new package should appear (this custom field must be present)
      2. read-page-corporate: the slug from the new page at step 2
    5. Featured Image: add oblong featured image (height to be 68% of the width)
  4. update/publish
